Fundraising ideas...anyone????
We are desperately in need of some new mats and equipment for the Signal School of PE gymnastics team. The parents would like us to put together a fund raiser to help with this. Car washes are not an option and the group isn't big enough to do a cookie/candy sale type of thing. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

You could take the team to the walmart parking lot and have them do flips for coins. Just kidding! I'm terrible at fundraising. You could have a spaghetti dinner that the girls cook and serve. These are terrible ideas. Forget it. Sorry!
Well - I'm doing a fundraiser for my child's school right now. It's a pretty good one. You might be able to scale it down to suit your group? Here's how it works..
We're selling raffle tickets for $25/each. Only 4000 tickets will be sold. That means that if all 4000 tickets are sold, the raffle will have brought in $100,000.
Now - the school takes that money, and splits in half. Here's where the raffle comes in. They keep $50,000 for themselves and give the other $50,000 out in prizes.
First prize is $20,000
Second prize is $5,000
Third prize is $2,500
Fourth - Seventh is $1,000
and it goes on and on. They end up drawing 40 different times for cash prizes. This makes the participant's odds of winning 1 in 100!!
Now - I didn't list all of the prize amounts because I can't remember off the top of my head, but they draw for smaller & smaller amounts until they've drawn 40 times. The lowest amount won is $100
Maybe you could scale this down to a more manageable amount for your group? I have sold a lot of tickets. As an individual - I've already sold 30 tickets.
Just an idea. Visit my blog if you'd like more info - you can leave me a comment there and I'll try to answer your questions...
Good luck!
Thanks Norman! Good idea, I'll run it by the parents.
